Salamanca from the distance |
After enjoying Granada we headed north to a city called Salamanca. We had a rental car so it wasn't planes, trains, and automobiles this time......just automobile.
The drive was pretty and fairly scenic. We passed through a town called Avila, Spain and it was looked like a movie set with the medieval walls surrounding the city. We stopped for a little photo shoot.

We arrived to Salamana in the early evening and our airbnb was in a great location. It felt a little like a hotel with a kitchenette, but was functional for the four days we would be there.

We filled our days with a tandem bike ride around the outskirts of the town, walks through the cobblestone streets,
did a train tour of the old city

attended a festival

The Peruvian's were represented in the festival. |

It was a very cute city with lots of old world architecture and history.
Customer service in Spain has not been the best, but we found a vegan tapas restaurant near our apartment that was amazing.
We have them serve us random tapas each time and every one of them was so so good. Plus the fresh lemonade was awesome. We love this "tapas" thing and I can't remember if I mentioned, but in Granada the tapas were always complimentary, but here in Salamanca there is a small fee.
