St. George Island State Park

St. George Island State Park is in the Panhandle of Florida and after a longer than expected drive, we made it.  The park was on the far eastern side of the island and pretty far removed from the community.

We arrived late in the evening, low on groceries and tired from our Disney World weekend.   Despite all of that, we did manage to pull off or first "one-maneuver" back-in at the campsite.

The weather was a little chilly, but when the sun was out we tried to be too.  It was nice to see the white-sand beaches that we know so well.

There was a nice hike from the campsite to the gulf side, but was longer than expected and even though I already know this, a good reminder to always have water and my cell phone with me.

We learned about local oyster harvesting and went out one night to try the local "claim to fame". Reconfirmed: oysters are not my favorite.
