Large Marge and The Hairy Toe

We made the short drive across the pass from Palisades to Victor, ID and arrived to our campground. We had planned to be in the National Forest that week so we could have more of a "camping" experience for Jon and Steph.  We changed plans at the last minute and not sure if it was a good decision or not, but either way it worked fine.
We ended up at Teton Valley Campground in Victor and about a 20 minute drive to Jackson Hole, WY and Grand Teton National Park.
The day we arrived was Luna's b-day, so after setting up camp we took her into Jackson Hole to a movie.  She picked Inside Out and it was a good choice.  Pretty cute movie.  We toured the town a little and grabbed some groceries.
Jon, Steph, Bryce and Taylor arrived late that night and sleeping children were carried into the camper.
We took it easy that first day.  Sang Happy Birthday to Luna and did a little hike.

Decided to do a hike close to home, so we headed to the nearby national forest.

It was good to stretch our legs and see the cousins having such a good time together.  Thai for dinner:)

One of our days in that area we went to Grand Teton National Park.  We didn't have long there, as we were quickly realizing that getting a group our size out the door wasn't easy.  After a quick stop by the visitors center

and a film to better understand the parks history we focused our efforts on the Jenny Lake area.  We took a boat ride to the primitive side of the lake and hike to Hidden Falls.

Crowded hike, but beautiful too.  Our group split for a bit and we hiked up to Inspiration Point on the same side of the lake. The trail ended at beautiful overhead view of Jenny Lake.

Wildlife sighting..........and no, it wasn't the three girls in the photo :)
We had a campfire that night in the community firehole at our campground.  Roasted weenies and s'mores and had a few ghost stories...........The Big Hairy Toe, Large Marge, and the Pink Gorilla made an appearance :)
A week wouldn't be complete lately without some kind of maintenance so when our truck wouldn't start that evening we weren't too surprised.  The kids all went with Jon and Steph, and Diego and I dealt with the car stuff.
After all of that shenanigans we met up with the group at a super cool kids park with an adult park too..............climbing walls.  Very fun.
That evening we took off for Teton Village, a ski resort near Jackson Hole that had "Friday Night Bikes" going on.  We thought a bigger group of us would be biking, but when we found out that green trails were closed, because of the previous day's rain, the big kids and I went to meet Steph and a sleeping Taylor at a wildlife talk.  Diego and Jon hit the trails.

Our talk was very informative and according to the ranger/speaker, of all the animals that we know have lived on this planet, only 1% are living today.  Crazy.

The guys had to cut their ride a little short because of rain and shortly after we headed back into Victor for dinner at a barbecue joint.  Afterwards we quickly grabbed supplies and headed out to the National Forest where we were going to stay originally and set up a tent for Jon, Steph and Taylor and had a fire complete with s'mores and Large Marge came back for a second round  :)

The cousins were having a lot of fun together playing games and running around the tree house and playground area at the campground.

We had lots of car rides complete with giggles and bickering.

Uncle Jon brought his skills to the table and taught the very important "hand fart" to my girls.  Thank you, Uncle Jon.  Glad he didn't make it to the knee fart.  There's always next time :)

Next day we packed up the camper and all headed to Henry's Lake SP on the west side of Yellowstone NP.

Thank you, momma :)
