All I Want To Do Is Have Some Fun.........

We left Santa Maria and took Hwy 101 down towards the coast through Santa Barbara and Ventura.  At Ventura we headed down towards hwy 1 on the coast.  Once the ocean came back into view we were near Point Mugu and had a hungry group.  Took the first ocean side spot that we would fit into and made some lunch.

We took our time relaxing with the beautiful view and somewhere in those relaxing moments we locked ourselves out of the truck :)

Point Mugu
USAA roadside to the rescue and thank goodness we were stuck where we were, because all we had to do was pull our chairs out and sit back.  Forced relaxation by the Pacific Ocean.  Not bad.

Once we were back on the road we continued through Malibu, caught the sunset

and just before reaching Santa Monica got back onto the interstate in order to make it into camp at a decent time.

We stayed on Long Beach at a place called Golden Shore RV Park.  We were right along a bike path that went through a nice part of Long Beach and down to the beach itself.

We rode out there several times and had a sunset frisbee game.

Diego has a cousin, Pepe, who lives in the area so we had a couple of opportunities to spend time with him and his family.

The girls and I did a day up the coast.

Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and Muscle Beach.

The coast was beautiful and so much happening.

We went to the original Universal Studios and had a tour of where so many shows and films that we love were/are filmed.  We follow the show The Voice and we saw where it is filmed on set and so many others.
Something being filmed while we were on tour.

Live flood on the Universal set.

It took us a few days to recover from a long day in Universal Studios.  Over the weekend we decided to do a bus tour of the Los Angeles area.  Traffic is so bad and we though it was our best bet to cover so much ground in one day.  It was great.

We started at the Kodak Theater on Hollywood Blvd among the walk of fame stars.

We went down the Sunset Strip, through Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Brentwood, and some other areas I can't remember the names.
Bijan's Rolls Royce.  Parked in front of the store.

Carolers on Rodeo Drive.
After our tour ended, the girls found some of their favorite stars.

Wax Museum figure of Johnny Depp.
We had a good time.  Drove down Santa Monica Blvd. singing to Sheryl Crow.
Sweet dog, Kate, across the street from our campsite.
After a few month in California I have developed this love/hate relationship with the state.  Some of my favorite parts have been the climate in most spots, beautiful beaches, mountains and sunsets.  The energy and aliveness is great.  On the other side the traffic has been horrendous, quite a bit of theft, densely populated, and so so many people struggling on the streets.

We had a great time at this stop and are headed to see some more family in San Diego.
