Great Biking and a Pretty Lake

We are one the road headed to Savannah, GA. and leaving Poinsett State Park in South Carolina.  The park was very nice with lots of cool trails that we explored on our bikes (some walking our bikes :)) There was a very nice lake down by the ranger station.

We arrived there on Christmas Eve in the evening and without fail we always learn something new every time we set up or take down camp.  While I was directing Diego from behind the trailer with a walkie talkie, we had some tree contact.  Everything was ok.

Then, when we got into our site, got everything level, legs down, and unhooked our hitch, etc. we realized we were too far from the water hookup to connect :)  We could hook back up to the truck and re-position or we could drive to Wally World and grab a hose connection.  We went with option B :) and grabbed a little Christmas Eve dinner.  We were already told that we might need a longer hose at some stops, so we figured it wouldn't be the only time that would happen. After all of that we put our tree up and got everything ready for Santa.

While we were in Poinsett we rented a boat and rowed around the lake and looked for the two alligators that the ranger told us were out there.  No sightings :(

Our favorite things in Poinsett were the bike trails and the scenery.  The park is way out in the middle of nowhere and the area before entering is a bit rough, but once inside the park it is very nice.
